Im glad thread reopened. I too hope they succeed. Noted they were riding on sidewalk when there appeared to be a good bike lane available. I hope they get comfortable soon with riding on the road because they are going to run into places where there aren't sidewalks.
I asked him how far they rode yesterday and he said 10 miles in answer which made sense based on distance from Newport to Narragansut (Sp?) Good for them.
Or places where the sidewalks have all manner of obstructions, like light poles, mailboxes, trees, you name it. Somebody needs to tell them to get a blinky light though.
As for 10 miles yesterday, they couldn't have ridden across the bridge, so 10 miles is probably an overly optimistic estimate. Still, who cares, they're moving.
I used Google maps and it is 14 miles basically between the two cities. So throw out crossing bridges....I guessed 10 miles may have been close to correct. And yes...they are moving. That's the main thing
