i like your previous photos a bit better. the natural light is just right. direct sunlight washes out your subject. i try to take pics in the shade on a sunny day. timing it near sunrise or sunset provides beautiful light.

but it's really a pain in the ass to get everything just right -- timing the light, and doing all the little things like putting the chain on the big ring and placing the tire labels at the same exact 12:00 or 6:00 position.

you can get some new lever hoods from ebay for under $10. they really make 'riding the hoods' more comfy.

the 204 hoods from places like velo orange look a bit better than the ubiquitous cane creeks. sometimes your lbs may carry them.
