My wife had one-sided on her mtb until she switched to platforms, but when I tried them I found it way too annoying to have to flip them, so for me it's all or nothing. I have double-sided spds right now on my commuter and hardtail. I have no problem riding clipped in traffic. For a park or errand run of just a mile or two I just push the spds with sneakers, it's not that bad. But if I went all-platform it would be better.
