I've been oogling Ti bikes for a while and the all ultegra Ti at BD has been tempting me. Then I saw the Lynskey summer sale and am tempted by the R240. The geometry looks very similar to my Synapse which I like. The Lynskey will probably have better resale value. The R140 has same geometry as R240, 105 group and FSA crankset, smaller cassette, but is $1000 less than the R240. And it's cheaper than the all ultegra BD Ti ($2200).
Any thoughts on the R240 vs R140?
I had an R230, but have never ridden an R140/Pelaton (I believe that was the preceding model). I personally believe that the bent seat stays and shaped tubing made a difference in how it rode, but Lynskeys own description of the R140 states that it is very compliant as well due to tubing selection.
Thats a tough one, I would probably go with the R140, as the geometry was my favorite part of the R230, second of course to it being Ti.
