They accelerate like rocket bikes, will flat out outclimb just about anything not modern carbon, and can hang with many deepending on what you have. In the future these Cannondale bikes (and Kleins) are going to be recognized for the incredible frames they really are.

I don't know your budget but there are usually a lot of take-off high end carbon forks available in 1" at different consignment bike shops and shops that have a more COOP parts bin feel to them. You could find a vintage TIME carbon fork or look for a Cannondale Slice or whatever.
