Well... it took me about 2.5 hours to get the BB out. The thing was completly stripped on the non-drive side. It also looks like the seat tube is damaged from putting a 27.2 seapost into a 27.0 hole. He tried contacting the seller but so far no response. He also met the guy in a public place so he doesn't know where he lives.

So, what are your horror stories? I've had the stuck seatpost and stem issues, but nothing as bad as this.
Ok, flipping the question. Have you ever felt bad about getting too much money for a bike on Craigslist? I have.

1) I bought a brand new Fuji flatbar road bike for $500. After 3 years of use, I threw it up on Craigslist for $400 expecting someone to offer me less. Nope, a buyer came and gave me $400. I wanted to say "umm....I would have taken $300" but I didn't.

2) Recently I bought an old Trek bike for $75. Seatpost was frozen bigtime. In the course of getting it out, I ended up putting the frame seriously out of whack. I used 2x4s to straighten it out. But then the chain stays had a fair amount of bubbled paint and rust. I scraped some off. Sanded some (but not all) of the rust. Covered it with a half-assed-matched Testors paint. I put it back together (replacing some minor parts and rebuilding the rear wheel) and put it up on Craigslist for $275 for the heck of it. Someone came, rode it, and gave me $275.
