No suggestions on a wheelset, but if you don't already have Jobst Brandt's Wheel book,
The Bicycle Wheel,
http://www.amazon.com/The-Bicycle-Wh.../dp/0960723668, get a copy. It will educate you about the various spoke patterns and applications. Well worth its small price, I refer to mine all the time. I learned wheel building from some old mechanics back in the mid 70s, and its very satisfying to build your own wheels, or just to be able to maintain properly, you own wheels that you own.
