What do you think of this method of wrapping a bike in clear plastic for airplane transport?

Always check the fare AND the amount it will cost you to transport the bicycle. US airlines (like Delta, for example) have been known to charge in the neighbourhood of $300 for the bicycle. If your fare going British Airways is $1000 and the bicycle is free ... vs. a US Airline where your fare is $800 (cheaper air fare!) but you're going to be charged $300 for the bicycle, all of a sudden it is more expensive.

As for wrapping in clear plastic ... British Airways will accept it that way, and they have clear plastic bags for you to use. Other airlines, however ... may accept your bicycle that way reluctantly.
