Stan, I can't turn the clock back but really miss the long nosed 911's. Had a simple '71 T (carb) and then a '73 E (einspritz). Both coupes and driven like any other vehicle back then. All I have is great memories of them, ski trips, etc. The harsh weather and salt was cruel to them.
Other: Also used a '60 convertible D as a daily driver. Seats recovered in vinyl, top always down, rained on more than I can recall. Drab grey, not many paid attention to it.... probably most thinking it was a flattened Bug. Who would have thought back when what values are today? Nutz and well beyond my means.
Only a few years back, helped a bud crate his basket case 1950's 4 cam coupe. It was 100% original. Shipped overseas. He acquired it used late '70s, something like $4k. Rare they are and out of privacy, won't reveal what he sold the dismantled project for, but he should have held the Ace's. The current sales have gone bananas. As a bonus, he also had a partial restored Speedster. He gave up on the thought of finishing and sold it off as well. Had I only????..........
