I know that this website I used to use to record my rides says that a typical round trip is 1100-1500 calories depending 22-30 miles a day. I did not really up my calorie intake until I was riding 3 or more days a week, which is a good way to loose weight and get lean. (people at work are still confused how I can eat and not be gaining weight)

I have found that commuting in the morning and evening really ramps up the calorie burn through out the day. I am usually always hungry.
