It looks real to me...the replicas don't have number hangers and the truth is that the provenance isn't usually worth enough to make it worth bothering. The decals all look correct, the parts look right. I have a confirmed team bike and the serial number doesn't fit the standard Merckx numbers that cadre posts. I'd like the whole serial number with letters. It's possible some parts got moved or changed...it's really not that hard. I have heard of 7-11/motorola riders preferring xt seatposts before, and I've seen both the aero and fluted 7400 post used. It's not always 100% consistent...stuff got changed, broke and replaced. I've seen different pedals - rider preference counted.
As far as the earlier question of what it's worth without a famous rider, probably 1200-1600 or so. With the Bob roll connection, hard to say. It's very clean, maybe a back up bike. I wouldn't sell my Bauer without a hefty premium...if the market disagrees, that's ok. It'll stay with me. I'll even have it buried with me for spite

When you're dealing with something like a pro ridden bike, the memorabilia premium is really between buyer and seller - there aren't many comparison points to define a market.
