I think the style of bike you're looking for would be called gravel grinder. There's a whole section of the site devoted to them, and folks their might be better at pointing you in the right direction. I don't have a bike of that style but would like one myself. Am in the process of putting drop bars on an old late-80's/early 90's mountain bike to get something similar on the cheap.
