You have to decide whether you want pins. If you do, there are tons of good options because the MTB guys like flat pedals. I don't, because they wreck the bottoms of my shoes and once a year or so I'll bloody my shins dealing with the latest idiotic piece of bike infrastructure the city has installed. If you don't either, MKS makes a number of models that work well with regular shoes.
