I wouldn't quibble over $150. At $100 I'd worry about the job being rushed and corners being cut. At $300 I would hope for a fastidious mechanic who took his time and brought some passion to the job.
Ok was out sick so just getting back to this post. I did have a relationship with a mechanic I could trust and that shop quoted $300. They have done work for me in the past and I really trust the guy I worked with as he had 20 plus years’ experience. However he's no longer with the shop and I've heard nothing good from some of the other mechanics that don’t treat their job like the work of art it really is.
