Its all these sales gimmicks that make the bikes provenance seem so suspicious. it makes it seem fake even when it might not be.
Excellent analysis. Reading the ad I felt like it was fishy the whole time. I also see no real proof that this was Bob Roll's bike. Being friends with a decal maker could make this one really easy to fake, as the "Bob Roll" decal isn't terribly complex and it's the only one on the bike.
