If you want a lighter bike, get a lighter groupset and wheels.
Yup. I built my new bike with 1400g wheels and Ultegra and it's right around 15 lbs. My friend build up a similar frame with 105 and heavier wheels (and heavier stem, bars, saddle, seatpost) and his bike is nearly 18 lbs
I think the Solace HMF frame weighs about 900 g so the frame is not your issue (not that there is an issue). It's a very nice looking bike too. Wheels are boat anchors though
