I try to ride every day but don't sweat it if I need to drive due to weather, work requirements, etc. Sometimes when we get extended periods of nice weather, I need to take a day off just to give my legs a break. I try to avoid riding in thunderstorms, but it's a tough call in summer when afternoon storms can crop up almost any day. I rolled the dice yesterday and won. The forecast called for about 40% chance of afternoon storms and they hit about 3 pm, but had passed by when it was time to head home. My commute takes 1-1:15 hours depending on red lights, traffic and the weather, so I don't like riding that far in storms with lightning, high winds, hail and heavy rain. In fact, I don't like riding any distance in storms.
