So I bought a pair of the $40 black rims, even though I would have preferred silver. I guess if I end up liking these wheels, I should order a couple extra rims while I still can! (Especially since I don't think any other 650B rims have the same ERD.)
You'll be happy with them. I have SL23s in black and in silver, and I actually like the black ones better (on a modern build with black components). The SL23s build up easily with even tensions, a very well built rim.
