Thanks Michel, some enlightening info.
The local bike shop in Minot was a small, well run shop. They had 2 long time mechanics when I was there.
I'm eventually going to get a wheel trueing book and a stand. I have no intentions of building my own wheels but I would like to be able to at least properly maintain them.
