Hello from France,

I'm JC and I live near Saint-Lô in Normandy-France and have decided to loose weight a few months ago. I practice Home Trainer, go walking, and look what I eat. I am 43 years old, 5'7" (1,72 m) and now my weight is 288 lbs (131 kg) from a top at 312 lbs (142 kg).

I haven't ridden a bike for maybe 25 years now (except a Honda 600 CBF a few years back ). As a kid, i was biking a lot on a BMX, then on a Motobécane road bike with mudguards and carrier, I still have it but it's rusty and not in working order.

Looking for information in order to get back on a bike, I've discovered this forum and specially the Clydes/Athenas section, and I've read a lot of threads. Some of you here are really inspiring . I hope I can soon post Before and After pictures.

Last week, I've ordered my new bike at my LBS, an Orbea comfort bike to ride on country roads and towpaths, it should be at home this week, hope i'll like riding it. The begining of a long road...
