I'll admit to being condescending or even sideways insulting sometimes at the lack of thinking that (doesn't) go on prior to a poster asking for help. But I do understand that many are clueless about what I've learned to take for granted. Sometimes my answers are more to show the way and not just give an answer. Also my answers are many times for others who are not the OP but might find some help in their world.
What does get to me (and this thread isn't an example of this) is when the OP doesn't give much detail and seems to want us to do a google search, find an on line image, pull up some manufactures PDF or a brand's spec sheet to find out which calipers or cassette cog tooth counts the OP's bike has. Like we all have nothing to do but spend our time researching the info from which we will then graciously provide the OP's answer. To me this lack of giving us the details is an example of extreme laziness. So i'll often just ask for more info and leave my first reply at that. Andy (who just needs to rant every so often too).
