No. I think a week off is OK, but no more. Even a full week will hurt. Instead, back off both the volume and intensity. As Machka says, this is a good time of year to do some different things too. I tend to cut back the volume, but do one hard ride a week. Other than that, I'll do some endurance zone work, but maybe only an hour at a time, some pedaling skills work, lift weights at the gym, hike, that sort of thing. Conditioning is easy to lose, hard to get back.
