Alright then; I expect I had just never heard of this break in for hubs -- and thinking about it feels a little odd: what precisely is there to break in between hardened steel parts?
But no matter. I am glad to have unwittingly preemptively followed best practices by setting the initial adjustment just so and revisiting it after a few hundred miles.
I'm rather curious to see how far these hubs can go with plenty of TLC and copious amounts of fresh lube and balls.
