This poor frame has been part of three different bikes this year. It has been pretty busy. I bought the original Moto Le Champion as a parts bike and sold some of the parts and moved the rest to a CF frame to build my Raven road bike. Nothing was left of the Moto except for the frame and fork. I was beginning to acquire parts for an Italian road bike so I had this frame painted and used the Italian parts to build version 2 of the bike which had Campy Chorus and Campy Vento wheels. I rode the bike for about 2 months. Finally, I found the Italian frame I wanted and stripped the frame again to build my Basso Gap. Again, nothing was left except for the frame and fork. The next project was to do some upgrades to the CF bike. I finished "carbon fibering" it with CF bar and stem and, while I was at it, I upgraded most of it to Dura Ace. The only part left from the original Moto on the CF bike was the carbon crankset. So now I had most of the makings for another bike with all the Ultegra stuff that had come originally with the Moto. I bought some Speedcific wheels from Mike Garcia built on the DT Swiss rims and, voila!, Motobecane version 3. The frame now has the original bar, stem, derailleurs, shifter and chain. Next? If I win the nice yellow Litespeed frame on Ebay, we'll go at it again. It's a sickness, isn't it? Here's version 3 of the original Moto Le Champion:
It weighs 16lb. 7oz. as pictured.
