2old - yes, I seemed to run into a roadblock looking for a Panasonic, however your suggestion to go to em3ev was great. They have just what I was looking for and their site is easy to navigate. Also, the prices was very good, and hundreds less than others.

I still think the mid-drive is the way to go, but will of course consider other opinions. I hate to loos my beautiful double crank for Velo Orange, but the mid drive unit is unobtrusive and I'd say fairly stealthy.

Does anyone have an idea of how much noise these 8Fun's produce? My BionX is silent as a comparison.
