Off I went and about 6 miles out I realized that, for whatever reason, I had none of my spare tire kit with me. No tube, no Co2 stuff, no tire levers, nothing. Idiot. I am riding on my 'commuter configuration' which is my old 32 spoke Mavic Al clincher wheels, Gator Hardshell tires (rear tire almost new and front tire on the edge of needing replaced), and riding on roads with no particular flatting risk. But I was going to be way the heck out in the country, some small chance of no cell coverage in the low areas, and my 'go to backup' (my wife) was out of town. So an unfixable flat was a worse situation than would be typical.

So - do you ride on or do you go home for the spare stuff? Going back will take the 'new loop' out of the ride for the day (and next week or two for that matter). I chose to go back but had to think about it a while.

Others?

Yeah, I'd play it safe under those circumstances. I've forgotten on a few rides in the last year, but those were usually group rides.
