If I were meeting a group and I was confident someone else would have a flat kit, I'd keep on riding. Solo? I'd go back. I lost my multitool and rode for a week or so without one while looking for it, even that gave me a little bit of panic with visions of my seatpost clamp coming loose and having no way of fixing it on the road.
