My old 80's Ciocc was a flexible flyer with a Cinelli quill stem but I loved looking down on that during long rides....a quill stem just looks so much better from every angle (down, side, etc..)

Yeah, I'm on the rocking chair yelling at the whippersnappers but I can't help it.
I think we have quite a fair number of retrogrouches here, so you are in good company.
