Danno, Scott, Wilfred and all-- I think it was a limit screw issue and a lack of double checking. All the clicks are now there -- six -- and all should be well. Thanks for saving me from second guessing myself too much. This build is going to work out, I think. Just what my son wanted -- he chose the frame and parts himself, and convinced me that he did not yet want a bike with drop bars. Will post pics when they finish uploading to Photobucket.
