I tend to prefer all black bikes, but my bikes are old school steel frames with leather saddles. Black bikes hide dirt better and seem to grow old more gracefully as the aquire the inevitable nicks and scratches.

As to safety, i use lights and usually wear a hi-viz vest. I don't however wear black headwear while riding. I have a light colored helmet or a hi-viz cap.
