I've noticed the safety yellow, and, the new orange really stand out in all lighting conditions. I have jerseys and jackets with the yellow.
From a distance much longer than in your photo, when a few cyclists are standing together, all I can see is the yellow jacket on one of them. I'm talking about being so far away, you can't even be sure they have bikes with them.

The color of most of my bikes are whatever color they were when I found a bike, or frame that I liked for other reasons. I painted two of my old bikes black. The black shows touch up paint and, paint imperfections less.
