Even if you decide you like road cycling and eventually move up to something better, you may want to keep this as a beater/commuter and general transportation bike, particularly when running an errand in which security may be a bit chancy. This is why I find I actually need five bicycles (see signature -- Schwinn mountain bike, UO-8 beater, Bianchi fast and fun fair-weather friend, Capo Modell Campagnolo for comfort on long rides, and Capo Sieger as a classic project.
