Thanks, that does help. I think for now I'll buy a new set of the Specialized Hemisphere tires and maybe consider another set of rims later if the same looseness would occur with any 700x38 tires. I like the handling and overall feel just fine, and was only a little concerned about the loose fit when deflated.
