Ya, have head this happen on two bikes.

Over time the quick release wore away the paint/coating and created a little lip that, when dry caused a creak/click on one side of my pedal stroke. I originally greased the interface but after it kept coming back every few days I stopped mid-ride and used my swiss army knife to cut away all the paint coating and expose the bare aluminum dropout. Been totally silent since.

I did note that it was dependent on which wheelset I used, even if I swapped skewers beteween them. My stiff, aero wheelset caused the noise but my noodly box section wheelset was silent. IIRC this can be related to the stiffer wheel causing the fork and QR interface to move around more than a more flexible wheelset.
