So ... so far the evidence seems to be that the cheap Chinese carbon frames are about as good as much more expensive frames from big-name manufacturers--but it is all anecdotal evidence, from posters here who actually own and ride the frames?

Not saying they are equal, but given the huge difference in price, for some folks might they be a reasonable option?

For me, "Made in America" is only one factor ... and if I buy parts made in China, Taiwan, and Japan (it seems most Shimano stuff is made in China) and assemble them all in my garage, I will get a thrill which goes way beyond saying "All the parts came from the U.S." I will be able to say, "Built it myself--and it works."

I'd really like to be able to support the U.S. worker with all of my purchases, but I am a U.S. worker and really can't afford to.
