I think they're mostly focused on the physiological effect, i.e., the reduction in power production at higher altitudes.
I've done some work (using my own SS) with power input to explore drag variables. The problem is finding a windless time. It doesn't take much wind to (from what I can tell) really nuke the data. Around here early morning and late evening are best, but late afternoon/evening is not convenient for me and somehow by the time I have had my coffee, the dog is walked, etc the sun has been up a couple hours and the breezes start. Put another way this is a solvable problem and I am too lazy to solve it.
