Alright, it didn't explode. But after maybe 250 miles, shifting started getting crappy, skipping, self shifting...it took awhile, but when I pulled the wheel off I noticed it was running "loose"-lots of play. I almost destroyed my Shimano freewheel remover (didn't get that they had to have a special "deep" tool). I ended up removing the cogs with a chain whip, screwdriver and mallet, then cut off the "first stage" of freewheel with a cut off wheel and my grinder so I could get to the splines and remove this turd.
I bought one despite some poor reviews.

These are a POS. If someone wants the one that died on me, lmk.
