That's one thing that puzzles me about taking PEDs. I can just about understand it (although not agree with it) if you're world class and it's your career, and most of your competitors seem to be taking them.

But others, even many competitive racers at lower levels, are just a bit better than mediocre in the overall scheme of things. It may help them be a slightly bigger fish in the small pond they have chosen to compete in of people who are interested in racing, but it surely cannot give them any pride in their achievements.
