I paid a little extra for an IRD 991 hollow-pin chain, since I was convinced that it's very important for a 200lb cyclist on a 24lb bike to lose 1.8 grams of weight. What they don't tell you is those holes fill up with about 1.9 grams worth of dirt and crud on your first couple rides.
