It would be nice to see if someone here is riding a "Cool Gear" plastic saddle, which were usually installed on Exxon Graftek race bikes in the 70's and most possibly used by Howard and Stetina when they were sponsored by Cool Gear.
Interesting saddles as it also features a tension adjustment bolt at the nose, just like on leather saddles. I'm wondering if such things really worked or just might have resulted in some of them cracking apart the plastic (nylon?) saddle shell eventually, and did the plastic saddle really stretch to any amount to really need such hardware. I think there were a few other plastic saddles fron the 70's that had tensioning bolts too.....
