O searched for "used bicycles in (MyTown, USA)" amnd got a bunch of sites ... most of which led back to a couple main lists, but they were all bikes close enough that I could reasonably drive there to check out the bike without feeling so invested that I would be pressured to buy.

Of course, I was not looking for a specific bike.
