Maybe, because the front pockets don't work very well. Maybe, because it's not considered "stylish". Maybe, because make it cheaper to manufacture. Maybe, because pockets in the back are good enough.

Yes, that's why I said "typical". It isn't very surprising that track jerseys don't have pockets. The track stuff is actually irrelevant to this thread anyway. The OP apparently wants pockets.
