So-called serious cyclists have long held in contempt any innovation that makes bicycling more accessible, more practical, more convenient, or more fun for more people. It almost seems like they want to limit cycling to being a grueling sport for elite athletes.
I'm not saying that the pictured covered e-trike is a great innovation--I really can't determione that on the available information. I'm just saying that I don't trust the "serious cyclists" of BF.net to make good judgments for those of us who use bikes for everyday transportation and fun.
