Hi Rafael,

That mounting system with the metal strap going to that center hole is my own concoction. The Sherpa rack comes with hardware to allow it to be braced to the seat stays, or via the brake boss bolts. Check out these photos from OMM's Sherpa gallery:



Their mounting system would work as-is, but a few moments with a hacksaw and a drill to shorten the aluminum straps would make the install very clean.

I'm not trying to cost Thor a sale, but I think having to remove or otherwise fiddle with the rack every time the bike is folded is very inelegant.
