Lenton58. It's not so much the lack of originality that bothers me - these bikes could be ordered with just about any combination of parts available BITD.
It's just that I feel that aero bits do not look right on this '76 frame, so I am going to check what my parts bin can cough up in terms of mid-seventies parts.

good point and those topmount shifters must hail from the 1982-83 time...
luv the look of the finished springfield. very tasteful. fine colour selections. so often completed project bikes here at the forum display that "i have been worked on" look. but then the owner should be able to do what they like...
