The paint isn't as bad as I expected after seeing the CL ad. The pearl base-coat actually looks to be in pretty good shape. Good luck with the rest of the paintwork!
the primer I am using is a pretty close match to the basecoat.. so it hides the damage pretty well in the picture... not quite so well in person any closer than 10 feet!
I hear you on the white- I think it looks good, but maybe not right for this frame - white on off white. you can get the apex in black but it looses some style points in black
