I appreciate that you guys are fussing over this -- I did the same for the past week as I was buying a new groupset.
I own 10-speed bikes with 53/39 and 50/34 and decided I wanted 52/36 for the new 11-speed (for the trifecta!); actually, because I liked the ratios best with that and a 12/28 cassette... But it turns out that no one makes 12/28 except Shimano in Dura-Ace, which would cost more than a respectable crankset. Alas.
Given that I was pretty much stuck with an 11t cog, I went with 50/34 and bought both 11/25 and 11/28.
