Bikes: Mongoose Rockadile

bottom bracket oddity

Hello
Bicycle: mongoose - rockadile, old model, year ?,

oddity: the cartridge does remove from the non crank side.

non crank side seal and cartridge assembly screws in: clock wise

crank side seal screws in: counter clock wise.

From my mechanical experience in auto and other, the threads are in good condition. both sides screw in , screw out with out problems. from what i have seen on u tube the cartridge would should could insert / remove from the crank side.

Does any of the humans here know if this oddity requires a unique cartridge assembly.

or any other ?

After creating the first portion of this post and seeing a reply of: ' whats the problem '.

I apologize that do not have a phd in communication skills.

I have a new bottom bracket cartridge.

Before installing the new bottom bracket cartridge and cross threading because of the oddity of the cartridge being removed from the non crank side. While ninety nine percent of the show and tell videos show the cartridge being removed from the crank side.

I can look at the threads on the old and compare to the new as to which side the thread begins. left side - right side.
if the old cartridge came out of the non crank side and its threads begin on the left side while it screws in clock wise i would check the new to see if its threads begin on the left side.

And then check the opposite side that has the retainer seal cup that seats up against the cartridge on the inside, i do not know the tech name for the item.

And check with the local bike shop that i made the purchase of the square tapered bottom bracket.

Thank you
