My first MTB was a 1987 Ascent It was red , although the Red wasn't in the 87 catalogues. It was a great bike til it got stolen.
Do you have an 87 catalog?, I have the specs sheet only but in 1986 ascent was offered in Porsche Red, Bright Turquoise, and as your beautiful chrome one.
The 87 in Tangerine is nice, specially with the black Weinmann concave rims
