Bikes: Mostly English - predominantly Raleighs

In the 70's, "shorty" fenders were somewhat popular. They didn't impact the appearance of the bicycle as much as a full fender, but they provided very limited protection against spray. They did a pretty good job of keeping water and crud from getting sprayed into the brake calipers and up the steerer, and kept you from spraying yourself in the face, but that's about it.
